Sejarah dibalik nama Prendjak . . .

Orang Jawa menganggap kicauan prenjak di sekitar rumah sebagai pertanda akan datangnya tamu. Maka basa-basi tuan dan nyonya rumah saat kedatangan tamu adalah, "Pantas dari tadi prenjaknya berkicau terus…" Namanya juga basa-basi, tak perlu diuji apakah isi pernyataan benar. Apakah di sekitar rumah tujuan, yang dijepit pabrik, pasar dan terminal, masih ada prenjak [Prinia familiaris, untuk prenjak jawa, atau bar-winged prinia], itu bukan soal.
